Orchestral outreach in Toronto

The classical scene is experimenting with ideas to attract new audiences. The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has been offering $14 tickets for 15-35 year-olds. Koerner Hall is toying with the idea of making tweet-seats available; spots in the back row where patrons are free to use their phones during the concert. “I’m completely against it,” says the candid [Mervon] Mehta. “But then I’m thinking, if it’s the last row, and they’re not bothering anyone else.”
